Well, here is the truth… sizes are just a number and they mean something different to every single designer. A size medium is not a set size standard, it’s a suggestion! The secret to successful online shopping is actually not knowing your size it is knowing your measurements!
Here is the Lex Looks Fit Formula:
1. You’ve Just Become Your Own Stylist: Grab a Tape Measure!
This is the most empowering thing you could do. You don’t need to be a professional; just a soft measuring tape and 60 seconds.
Bust: When measuring bust, you will measure around the fullest area of your chest.
Waist: To measure waist, you will measure around the smallest part of your waist.
Hips: When measuring hips, measure around the fullest area of your hips.
You can be sure to write these three numbers down and keep them with you! This is your go-to cheat sheet for style!
2. Become a Fabric Detective.
A picture shows color, but the description tells the story. At Lex Looks, I take the time to thoroughly describe the fabric make-up because it matters.
Do you see “stretch,” “elastane,” or “spandex?” That equals comfort and give. Great for any piece you want to move in.
Is it “100% cotton” or “linen?” Then it is not going to have any, or much, stretch. If you are ever in doubt simply size up.
Is it “Viscose” or “Rayon?” That means gorgeous and fluid drape. It likes to cuddle the body.
